Cosplay: Vanellope von Schweetz Part 1

In part 1, dying Vanellope von Schweetz's pants and sweater from the Disney movie Wreck-It-Ralph.

After searching though the web for how others made their Vanellope's pants and sweater,
This is how I did mine...
1. Start with a white sweater and a white long pants.

2. Get fabric dye(s).
*** IMPORTANT: Get the liquid dye since you have to measure them.***

*** IMPORTANT: powder dye can leave some parts of the clothes with stain if it is not mixed well, prior to pouring them into the hot water bath***

3. You should have:
1 bucket/ bowl for your hot bath (large enough for your clothes to fit)

1 bowl or a cup for your dye mixture

1 plastic cup (to rinse your mixing spoon)

1 measuring cup (for liquid)

1 set of measuring spoon that has TSP

1 pair of gloves (if you don't want your hands to turn the color of your dye)

4. Measure out the correct proportion for the desire color
1 Tsp Teal
1 Tsp Lemon Yellow
1 Cup (Hot) Water
*** IMPORTANT: disregard the direction on the bottle of the liquid dye and on the box of the powder dye (if you decided to use powder dye) learn from my mistake***

5. Soak your clothes first in the hot water bath before adding the dye.

6. Add the dye to the hot water bath and make sure the sweater/ pants are submerged into the water
*** IMPORTANT: I dye my sweater and pants separately (FYI)***

7. Keep an eye on your hot water bath and the clothes you put in, if the desire color is not showing add more dye
*** IMPORTANT: for the sweater you will need to add a little bit more dye. I added 1/4 Tsp Teal and 1/4 of Tsp Lemon Yellow eyeballing the desire color as I poured in the hot water bath. Then I added 2 1/2 of that mixture to the hot water bath with the clothes in it.***

8. After 20-30 mins of stirring and submerging the clothes, take them out and rinse it in cold (regular temperature) water. Rinse until water runs clear.

9. Air dry them and clean all the mess you have made.

Mine came out to this, forgive the bad lighting

Later I'll be adding more details:
the "x" stitch between the sweater and the pocket
the string around the hood
need the strips along the pants (white and white & purple)
